Apple MacBook Pro Crashing (Safari Bug!)

After nearly half a year of continuous MacBook Pro crashing for unknown reasons I have finally figured out and repaired the problem.

The problem exists with a lot of users (judging by the number of posts in the Apple Support forums) that have upgraded from previous versions of OSX to 10.8.x.

The crashing for most is caused by multiple versions of Safari (mostly WebKit).

To fix the problem:

1. Navigate to System > Library > StagedFrameworks > Safari  in Finder.
2. Delete any WebKit frameworks.
3. Run system update and install the Safari update. DO NOT RUN SAFARI.
4. Reboot your Mac.

This corrected my problems so far. Will keep you posted.

6.1.3 iOS Battery Bug

I got the wonderful iOS 6.1.3 battery bug. Battery went from lasting 10-12hrs on average to 2-3hrs (not a typo!). After doing some research I found a fix. It worked for me though others are reporting mixed results:

• Turn off all email and calendar accounts from phone Settings.
• Force reboot by holding Power and Home.
• Re-enable all accounts.

If at any time during the account modifications it asks to remove data from phone it is okay to say ‘no’ (will speed up re-sync).

Good luck! Today was my first full day after doing the fix and the phone appears to be working normally again.
